3 out of 5 stars Meh...should have known better.   March 10, 2010

While this product does what it's advertised to do, the sound quality is mediocre at best. Bluetooth still has a ways to go on that front.

I got this to pair my Droid to my work stereo set up. Even with high bit rate mp3's the sound lacks any kind of depth or clarity. Running a direct 3.5 mm stereo plug to RCA in or a good FM signal or CD is FAR superior. However for a quick fix or maybe streaming talk radio it's adequate. If you're looking for any kind of good quality sound this isn't going to cut it.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed! Awesome audio BT bridge   February 24, 2010

Works fantastic allowing to stream audio from my IPhone to my old stereo receiver (with RCA adapter cable). Super easy set up, sounds great, well made and tiny (2 1/2 x 1 1/2 ")
This can work as a bridge as TX or RX. Great value!

You GOTTA buy this! Nevermind about what other people said about the sound speeding up. There are a few reasons why it does this including, 1) Your device (computer, phone, etc.) is too slow. Works perfectly with my iPod Touch, but sometimes my laptop can't keep up when it's busy running desktop & background applications. This especially happens when running videos. Solution: Get more memory or close as many applications as possible. 2) You're running Wi-Fi Internet & are trying to watch a streaming audio or video (like YouTube) or are downloading something while watching/listening to something on your computer. Remember that Wi-Fi & Bluetooth run on the same frequency 2.4Ghz. So unless you have a dual-band Wi-Fi router that uses the 5 Ghz frequency range, you're bound to run into problems. I also have a bluetooth mouse, which complicates things even further. Rembember also that the ability to stream data is limited by its bandwidth. So if I'm watching streaming video, then I turn off the mouse. If I'm watching a DVD or a movie file stored on my computer, it's OK to use my mouse, but I avoid downloading anything while watching. Follow this advice & you'll come to appreciate this product.

Tip: The AC adapter is bulky & basically worthless. Since the device runs on 5 VDC (same as USB), what I did was cut off the end of the AC adapter & attached the side that plugs into the device to a USB cable. This way you can use it anywhere such as in your car (using a cigarette lighter USB adapter) or plug it directly into a laptop, or anywhere that provides 5 volts of juice.

4 out of 5 stars Good for playing iPod Touch over home stereo   February 19, 2010
Unicorn Dolfin Love Magic (CA, USA)
One nice thing is that the size is much smaller than the picture suggests. It is actually only 3 inches tall.

This device works great for streaming my iPod Touch music to my home stereo. It has decent range and I can even go a little ways into the next room before it drops out. - However, you should plan on just using it in the same room. I have also used it fine streaming music from my laptop to my stereo. As long as you have a good wireless connection, the sound quality is great. I have not tried streaming audio from the device out to anything because I didn't get it for this, but it is cool that it has the ability.

The cable it comes with allows you to connect to a mini-stereo type plug which was not good enough for me. If you need to connect to RCA line inputs like are usually on the back of a stereo, you will need a different cable (male mini stereo to male stereo RCA). - I wish it came with an adapter to RCA.

Setup should be simple if you just follow the directions. - On the iPod touch you will need to turn on your bluetooth and search for the device, select it, and enter the security code that the instructions mention. Note that I am using a fairly new iPod Touch bought christmas of 2009. Old iPods don't have bluetooth and I have heard that an old iPod touch may need an upgrade to the OS to work.

Also, FYI, The iPod Touch will continue to stream even while plugged into a charger cable. When you plug into a dock it stops streaming over bluetooth and directs the music to the dock, however, if you just re-direct it back to the bluetooth by clicking on the little blutooth icon that shows up at the bottom of the music display.

3 out of 5 stars Used with hearing aids   February 18, 2010

I bought this Bluetooth device to connect the audio from the tv and send it via Bluetooth to my hearings aid, you can connect your computer, your player, anything that has a audio output. Work pretty good when nothing is in between you and the device, and in a distance no more than 20 feet. You can control the volume without annoy others. I can send my music from my Iphone to the home theater system. You can pair with more than three diferent Bluetooth devices. Good device for the money.
